The Data Science for Dynamic Decision-making Center (d3c) in the Survey Research Center (SRC) at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research (ISR) invites applications for an open rank (Assistant, Associate, and Full) Research Professor position.  SRC ( is a multi- and inter-disciplinary research organization devoted to the discovery of and insight into major issues within the social and behavioral sciences. SRC is an international leader in research involving the collection and analysis of randomized trials, sample surveys, and other administrative data.

The d3c ( is a vibrant, interdisciplinary methodological research center that develops, implements and disseminates data collection and statistical methods to optimize adaptive interventions, including personalized digital interventions.  Faculty at d3c work across a wide range of behavioral intervention research areas, including digital health, behavioral medicine, health services, education and implementation science.  d3c has strong ties across the University of Michigan’s campus, including the Departments of Statistics, Biostatistics, Psychology, School of Information, and the Medical School, including the Eisenberg Family Depression Center and the Rogel Cancer Center.

A successful candidate is expected to launch or establish an independent externally-funded research program within d3c’s collaborative and supportive environment. SRC faculty are expected to cover their effort through sponsored research, either through grants as a principal investigator or as an investigator on other grants (co-investigator). The environment is highly entrepreneurial and SRC faculty are provided exceptional resources to pursue significant and innovative research.
